The Sky is the Limit

The Saudi Arabia Pavilion, largest of the visiting countries and second only to the host country UAE, has won countless awards: 3 Guinness World Records, best pavilion of Expo2020 and two honorary awards for best exterior design and best display from Exhibitor magazine. With over 20 million visitors, the Expo 2020 has come to an end, luckily, the Saudi Arabia Pavilion will remain on exhibit as a fixed landmark.

This architectural icon with its slanted eruption from the ground is defying gravity and reaching up towards the sky, which complements the theme of Saudi Arabia, as a country with heritage fiercely moving towards a sustainable and advanced future. The external square beneath the behemoth is mirrored and acts as a canopy of display in visual architecture and wonder. Proudly GUTMANN was able to fulfil this vision of the renowned architects from Boris Micha Associates, BMA, with our F80 add on customised semi-unitised curtain wall system, a favourable price performance solution satisfying high technical specifications with economical construction and easy installation.

Further information about the project

Additionally, festooned on both sides of the sleek architecture are two suspended gardens that house GUTMANN’s F60 skylight curtain wall system. The skylight windows are automated for easy opening mechanism, reaching up to an angle of 90 degrees. The S70+ Skylight window has a controlled drainage above the glass structure, ensuring maximum water tightness and insulation. We are honoured to be part of this project and share and support these sustainable goals towards a greener future. Together GUTMANN can realise your visions for a better future.
